Description
Grade 5 Treble (201 pieces, 176 pages)
This is the largest book in the collection with 176 pages. As with Grade 5 Descant, the note range is 2 octaves, in this case Low F to very High F, with all chromatic notes between. The keys are as previous grades plus A, A flat and D flat major. Time signatures are also as before plus six/four, twelve/four and three/two. Musical abbreviations also appear at the end of the Sight Reading section. (See the comment on abbreviations in the notes for Grade 5 Descant). Some sixteenth and seventeenth century performance practice conventions appear from time to time, e.g., croche enégale, (unequal quavers), and port de voix (a vocal portamento, shown by a V sign placed above the note). Full explanations are given in the text. With 176 pages and 201 pieces of music to hand, in the privacy of one’s own room, an hour or more is likely to pass unnoticed! The book concludes with a number of Sonatas and Sonata movements taken from the Standard Repertoire, with sources for accompaniments listed at the foot of appropriate pages. Sample pages from this book are shown above.
This music is also suitable for: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Violin, etc.
